Homegrown Douglas Fir

At East Brothers, we’ve been working with Douglas Fir since the 1970s. Over the decades, we’ve developed a deep appreciation for this remarkable timber. Sourced locally, on average within just 50 miles of our sawmill.

Why use Douglas Fir

Douglas Fir is a strong, versatile, and visually appealing timber, making it ideal for a wide range of applications. Its excellent balance of durability, ease of workability, and aesthetic charm has made it a favorite in both construction and woodworking.

It’s widely used in the construction industry for framing, flooring, roofing, and structural beams, thanks to its robust nature and workability.

In recent years, we’ve seen growing demand for high-quality Douglas Fir in exterior applications like cladding, decking, and fencing. Unlike Larch, it responds exceptionally well to treatment and paint, offering a reliable alternative for projects where a painted aesthetic is desired.

Our knowledgeable team is ready to help you make the most of Douglas Fir for your specific needs. Feel free to reach out for expert advice and guidance on your timber project.
